The 13th CHI Nederland conference takes place at the Kamerlingh Onnesgebouw (KOG) in Leiden.

The Leiden University is the oldest university in the Netherlands, founded in 1575 as a gift from William of Orange to the citizens of Leiden. It was the first university in the Netherlands where freedom of belief and religion was practiced, as reflected by the university’s motto, Praesidium Libertatis (Bastion of Liberty).

The Kamerlingh Onnesgebouw (KOG) was named after Heike Kamerlingh Onnes, professor of experimental physics at Leiden University, who received the Nobel price in 1913 for his research into liquid Helium. The historic laboratory in the city centre has been renovated and adapted with a modern, light flooded extension and now belongs to the school of law.
